Finally, am back home. I spent my entire week attending a seminar in Cagayan de Oro City. It took us more than seven hours of land trip to get there. The trip took longer due to ongoing road repairs and my tailbone was hurting because of it. Good thing that our hotel’s beds were just right; not very soft, not very hard and comfortable to sleep on after the tiring travel we endured. I just wish that there were two desk lamps in our hotel room because the one desk lamp located at the center of our beds just could not reach me while I was reading.
The hotel where we were accommodated on has a good location and was just right next to our seminar venue; but what really impressed me was our seminar venue. The venue was the training room of one of our branches. It was fully furnished with all the facilities for conventions, meetings and seminars. They have two state-of-the-art overhead projectors and even really nice light fixtures. Its downside was it could only accommodate just about 100 people at one time.
We were quite envious of the branch where the seminar venue was located. Their workplace is actually quite neat as they have these unit cubicles. The voluminous documents that are quite prevalent in a lot of our offices were hidden from public eye. Their receiving area looked organized and well lighted with good lamps. They have their own library, daycare area, gym, coffee nook and canteen. I really wish that our branch could have this kind of set-up as we are still using the traditional office tables and chairs.
