How To Achieve The Targets

I saw our proposed targets for next year and I must say, they are mind-boggling. I do not know how we will achieve those targets but one thing is for sure, we will be required to try our best to reach them.

I have yet to see our annual targets go down for the past few years. Each year, they go up and each year, we were told to hit the ground running. No wonder we were always told to come up with innovative ideas, to think out of the box and to help make our company be more visible to our target clients.

I think, one thing that could help us become more visible to our target clients is the extensive use of the information highway. We do have our own website but there are a lot of things to be improved upon it and we really need the help of a digital agency. Some of our clients are even complaining that it is not easy to navigate and searching for our website for us in the internet is that easy. But then, our system administrators are always busy and these important issues take the backseat. This is why we need somebody that could help us with lead generation to help us attain visibility and even study our cpa publisher network to help market our products. These can only be attained if we do not stick to our current system administrators. Not that I am against them but they are already way too overloaded with work and they need help.

One more issue, we all do collaborative work and we can only attain our targets if we cooperate with one another. However, there are some employees who are more focused on getting their workload lighter to the detriment of other units. These issues create friction, resentment and demoralization. The teambuilding workshop-seminar would help ease those things out.

It has been more than a decade since we have this seminar-workshop and to think, a lot of agencies/companies have this annually or semi-annually. The results nowadays are quite obvious. There are more people who only think of themselves and their own unit’s targets and the collaborative work that could help achieve the overall goal or target has long been compromised.

Manny Pacquiao and Krista Ranillo?

News is going around everywhere that Manny Pacquiao and Krista Ranillo is the current item nowadays. Nothing is confirmed yet but people are already speculating since Jinkee, Pacquiao’s wife, was seen crying prior to Pacquiao’s victory party a few days ago.

I can’t believe this news but the Pacquiao youtube video I saw which was taken after Pacquiao guested in Jimmy Kimmel show weeks before his fight against Cotto had me wondering. The girl tried to cover her face while the paparazzi was taking their photos. I think, Jinkee would not have done that.

Yes, starlet Krista Ranillo is sexy but to get involved with the very much married Pacquiao?  I hope this is just plain rumor because if it is true, I can see Pacquiao's political ambitions going out the window.

How To Attract And Increase Traffic

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Great Minds Design. All opinions are 100% mine.

When I started blogging two years ago through the encouragement of a friend, I thought it was just easy. I thought wrong. While I was setting up my blog, I realized I was in for some big challenge.

Putting up a blog was difficult enough for a newbie like me because I did not know how and where to start (thank goodness for the help and patience extended to me by my friend). It was also mind boggling because I did not know anything about HTML, Search Engine Optimization and etc; and these are the very things that will help a website get into search engines and subsequently, help increase traffic.

I have yet to meet a blogger or web site owner/developer whose goal is not to increase traffic and readership. If you ask them what should be done first, the answer would likely be the Web Design. It is the first thing that meets the reader’s eye. It should be eye-catching enough for the reader to get attracted to stay longer and explore but it should not be garish or too loud that could discourage the reader or potential customer.

Enter Great Minds Design. Putting up a website takes time, patience, perseverance and related knowledge. Unless you are an expert with some time to spare, your website will take a lot from you to get it up and running but with Great Minds Design, you will have more time to strategize for your product and even improve on it.

That’s actually a win-win solution.

Jellyfish Swarm

Yes, jellyfish population is increasing and it's literally swarming the waters of Japan according to Yahoo News and likely, this is not an isolated case. It is also disturbing that the ones found lurking there are the big and venomous ones called Nomura's jellyfish.

I wouldn't worry much about jellyfish stings if they are the ones we found in Siargao; their jellyfish did not sting!

I have been more scared of jellyfish sting when I encountered some while on vacation with friendsin Palawan. We were swimming near the beach and suddenly a slight stingy almost electric feeling came to my leg. A friend felt it too so we immediately went out of the water feeling scared of something unknown. A few days after, we went swimming again on a different location and suddenly, a friend screamed in pain and hurriedly  went out of the water. We were worried and it was a good thing that there were experienced swimmers in that area and we were told to find some vinegar to pour on our friend's legs; that was when we saw this transparent jelly-like tentacles wrapped around her legs!

The tentacles left some red welts on her legs and she said she felt the sting like it was a painful electric current going through her legs up to her body. Her doctor told her she was lucky because some people died of heart attack because of these nasty jellyfish stings.

Our guardian angels were protecting all of us closely at that time. Thank goodness for that.

Pacquiao Wins Over Cotto

Thanks to free live streaming online today, I was able to watch the Pacquiao-Cotto fight while at the mall. Manny Pacquiao collected his seventh title over the tough Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto today. The best pound for pound boxer proved his detractors wrong by maintaining his lightning speed even if he has moved up to a heavier weight division. I admire Cotto for his tenacity though. He stood his ground until the end but the Pacman just wouldn’t stop his barrage of punches.

I wonder who’s going to be Pacquiao’s next opponent, Floyd Mayweather Jr. maybe? Another interesting bout if that will happen.

For sure, Manny Pacquiao will have a heroes’ welcome in the Philippines but I wonder if he’s going to have another new car. Pacquiao is known to love fast cars. Should I have that kind of money that Pacquiao won, I would surely buy a nice car for my family complete with cool accessories like the halo headlights. My father would surely love that.

To Manny Pacquiao, congratulations!! You rock!

Saturday 9 #14 Man On The Moon

Saturday 9: Man on the Moon

 1. Do you think it was important to send a man to the moon? Yes, so that we can know if there’re humans out there.

2. What is your biggest fear? Losing my loved ones.

3. If someone hung a sign around your neck today, what would it say and why? “Am not crazy, am just a little unwell. I know right now, you can’t tell..”

 4. What is the longest line that you've stood in and was it worth it? It was a line of a medical mission of an American hospital ship (MV Mercy was the name of that ship, if I am not mistaken) that offered free checkups and free medicines. It was worth it for my parents.

5. As the holidays approach, what songs are looking forward to hearing again? Christmas songs

6. Whose music do you think is the most important of your generation's? Madonna, Michael Jackson

7. Do you find it is to be kind to strangers? Give an example. There’s something missing in this question. But regarding patience, I try to do random kindness as much as I can whenever I can.

8. When do usually lose your patience? When people pretend they know better when they actually don’t.

9. Is there a book that you're dying to see as a movie? Nah, a lot of the movies taken from the books did not do justice to the books.

Christmas Box and Retirement Money

My aunt just called last week to check on us. She said she has been missing her old home. It was good to hear her again and I am quite relieved that she and my uncle have adjusted well in their new home. She promised to send us a Christmas box as soon as she can fill it and I am hoping that there is a pair of rubber shoes in there. She is hoping that that the black Friday ads she saw on the newspapers are as good as they promised. We told her that it is okay not to send anything but we know her well, she would likely send a box full of presents for all of her relatives.

A new retiree, my aunt is still adjusting with her new laidback life. Her present routine is a departure from her usual hectic schedule that she maintained for years working as a teacher. She was planning to have her own small business but got busy with her relocation that the said plan took a backseat. Lately, she is reading a lot and came upon options trading strategies. She realized that even if she cannot have her own business, she could try emini trading to invest some of her retirement money. She is getting apprehensive that if she will not invest that money, she would just lose it from unnecessary spending.

I understand her apprehension as based on her past experiences, she lost a lot of money because of my uncle’s selfish spending. Old age is already settling in for both of them and she knows that if she don’t use or invest her money wisely, it will be difficult for both of them to recoup it. It’s good that my uncle is still working but he is more concerned with his personal wants than save for the future.

Nowadays, she is keeping an eye on Forex Signals and studying how foreign exchange trading works. I am also curious with it. She did promise to keep me posted so I could learn something from it too. Who knows, I might get into it someday. Meantime, I am so excited to get my hand on that promised Christmas box.

Free Live Streaming Pacquiao-Cotto Fight

Everybody's excited over the upcoming Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto fight this coming weekend. I am apprehensive of what the outcome might be. For sure, the fight will be an interesting one and it's too bad that we do not have cable TV at home. My father is quite excited to see the Pacquiao Cotto fight in real time and this is why I am now looking for free live streaming Pacquiao Cotto fight online. Justin.tv and Sopcast are the ones being recommended by some friends. I will have to check it before the fight day comes.

Mellow Yellow#1 Kadayawan Festival’s Yellow Flowers

This is my first entry for the meme, Mellow Yellow. So, I want something with loads of yellow colors in a pic and I found this on my file.

This was taken during Davao City's Kadayawan Festival. The annual festival is usually held every 3rd week of August. It is in line with the indigenous people's thanksgiving rituals for their good harvests. The month of August is the time of year when flowers, fruits and vegetables arein abundance.

TV Deals

Finally, as I expected, our DVD player got broken. My nieces have been using it without much care and I repeatedly warned them to be careful with it but I think, they didn’t hear me. The last time I saw it used, they were trying to adjust the connection between the DVD player and the TV as it seemed that the socket went loose. The next thing I know, they want me to bring the DVD player to the repair shop. No thanks. I’ll make them wait.

I can hear them complaining along with my father who is another TV addict but since they were not careful with the player, I am not inclined to have it fixed for now.

My father asked me about those Direct TV Packages that his friend is enjoying right now and it seems a better alternative. I am inclined to just get these Direct TV Offers just to appease him. In that way, they can watch the movies they want while I do not have to worry about something get broken again. Besides, if I don’t get the Direct TV Deals myself, he would likely get it himself and ask me to pay for it. I might as do it myself so I can choose the best deal.
